I received the gift of massage in 1999 while pregnant with my second child. A gift much greater than the massage itself was life-changing for me. It served as the catalyst for my personal journey into self-care and integrative wellness, a path I would spend the next 2 decades sharing with others.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Montclair State University in 2002. Shortly thereafter I graduated from Essex Group Institute with a national certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
I began my Yoga Teacher training in 2007, completing over 200 hours of coursework with an emphasis on trauma-informed and restorative yoga.
I completed the Skincare program at Capri Institute of Cosmetology becoming a licensed Esthetician in 2016.
In 2017 I received a Masters of Science degree in Acupuncture from Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
I became a League Certified Bicycle Instructor through the League of American Bicyclists in 2019 and a Cycling Savvy Certified Instructor at the start of 2020, just before the pandemic.
My two children having preceded my academic and professional endeavors are an impetus of motivation and inspiration. Twenty-six years later Kiah & Maysen continue to be my muse. Sharing a method and means to self-care practices leads to greater care of ourselves, family, friends, our community and our planet.
